The Federal & State Grants Unit (FSGU) administers grant programs overseen by ICJIA. Authorized to receive and disburse grant money, ICJIA also is responsible for assuring compliance with federal and state regulations. ICJIA began administering federal grants in 1985, following the passage of the Justice Assistance Act and the Victims of Crime Act by Congress.

National Criminal History Improvement Program Live Scan Equipment Notice of Funding Opportunity # 3242 - 0526
The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is issuing a funding opportunity for the reimbursement of expenses of procuring live scan fingerprinting equipment to improve the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of criminal history records submitted by Illinois justice system agencies. Agencies that submit criminal history records through paper-based processes or are using obsolete hardware and software will apply to be awarded grants for purchasing live scan equipment. Grants will be made with FFY23 National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP) funding. A total of $1,699,266 is available through this solicitation.
